Make a difference through radio together with Norkring
(14th of December 2015) How can we make a difference through radio? Come to Norkring’s event on Tuesday 15 December and find out. It all kicks off at 8.30am and all employees are invited to an atmospheric start to the day at Telenortorget.
It is no secret that DAB developer Norkring and its employees have a passion for radio. This passion is also apparent when, together with Plan, they invite all employees at Telenor Fornebu and nearby businesses to a joint event at Telenortorget next Thursday. The event is the result of a three-year partnership between Norkring and Plan Norway, through which Norkring is supporting a project in Zimbabwe where Plan is using radio broadcasts to change attitudes towards child marriage.
“We want to do something special before Christmas through our partnership with Plan which creates engagement, gives people the chance to experience the joy of giving and enables us to make a difference together through radio”, said Therese Strand, Norkring’s Marketing Manager. The aim is to raise as much money as possible for Plan’s work with a radio collection and sale. Therese is also hoping that her colleagues and neighbours at Fornebu will support the event.
It all kicks off at Telenortorget with a communal meeting with Plan’s Secretary-General, Kjell Erik Øie, Norkring’s CEO, Torbjørn Ø. Teigen and beautiful live music, followed by a radio collection and radio sale for the rest of the day.
“I’m going to trade my radio in, are you?”
Norkring asks everyone to bring their FM radio with them on the day and help to raise money for the project by trading in their FM radio at Telenortorget. You will also be able to purchase a DAB radio in building M or from radiobutikken.no between 9am and 4pm and donate money for every radio that is purchased to PLAN!
“I’m going to trade in my old FM radio”, said Torbjørn Ø. Teigen, Norkring’s CEO, and asked us all to do the same. It is also not out of the question that someone will be getting a DAB radio under the tree from him this year with a friendly message that we are making a difference through radio.
