Norkring in Slovenia


Norkring
AS was chosen by the Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (APEK), as the operator of the second digital terrestrial broadcasting network (MUX B) in the area of the Republic of Slovenia, on 19th December 2008. The license is valid for a period of ten years.

Slovenia MUX B:

In the decision on the allocation of radio frequencies, APEK stipulated that Norkring will provide access for at least 8 TV programs in the MUX B for all 3 allotment zones (East, Center, West). The modulation parameters used for MUX-B operation assure a bitrate of 22,39 Mbit/s and are as follows:

        Modulation: 64-QAM

        Code rate: 3/4

        Guard interval: 1/4

Coding standard MPEG-4 (H.264 for video and AAC for audio) will be used in Slovenia for terrestrial digital television broadcasting.
