“Norkring Belgium now makes digital TV available
everywhere, around the clock, in Flanders and Brussels”
Brussels, 5 October 2009 – Norkring Belgium, a subsidiary of the Norwegian company Norkring AS, has appointed Bart Bosmans as CEO of the new media company which has its own broadcasting infrastructure network and digital frequency packages for the whole of Flanders and Brussels since the end of June. Norkring Belgium is also the new operator of the transmission equipment formerly belonging to the public broadcaster since the beginning of March 2009. This makes Norkring Belgium a new and fully-fledged network carrier for digital TV, radio and other applications.

Mr Bosmans previously (since 2007) held the position of Global Head Media & Entertainment Solutions with Nokia Siemens Networks. During the period from 2000 to 2007, he was Director Carrier Solutions at Siemens AG Belgium. The new Norkring CEO is able to draw on considerable experience gained in the ICT sector. |
“The sky is not the limit”
“Our transmitters enable us to make digital TV available everywhere, around the clock,” says Mr Bosmans. “In the car, at the office or even on a camping holiday, viewers will be able to watch digital TV. This means there will soon no longer be the need for cable or broadband to be able to receive digital-quality television and radio. The potential of new applications for digital data are thus endless. ‘The sky is not the limit’ for Norkring Belgium.”
Who is Norkring Belgium?
Norkring Belgium has been the new operator of the former public broadcasting transmission equipment since the beginning of March 2009. Since then, Norking Belgium has also been responsible for all broadcast transmission services for the VRT in Flanders and Brussels. At the end of June, Norkring Belgium was also granted licences to provide a television and radio broadcast network and the digital frequency packages that go with it.
